John Eyles, PhD, is a social and policy scientist and a University Professor at McMaster University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a former director of the McMaster Institute of Environment and Health. He is also Professor of Geography and an associate in the departments of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Sociology, and member of CHEPA. He is author or co-author of some 200 books, peer-reviewed journal articles and technical reports in the health and social sciences fields. He has carried out work for national and provincial organizations and governments in Canada. For example, he has worked with the International Joint Commission, the Ontario ministries of Environment and Health, the Prince Edward Island Department of Health and Social Services, Ontario Hydro and the Canadian Chlorine Co-ordinating Committee. He serves on several expert panels and advisory committees and boards.
