Jean-Eric Tarride is an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a member of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis. He is also an associate member in the Department of Economics, an investigator with the Program for Assessment of Technology in Health, a member of both the Centre for Evaluation of Medicines and the Father Sean O’Sullivan Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare and holds a Career Scientist Award form the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. He obtained both his BA and MA degrees at Université des Sciences Sociales de Toulouse in France, and his PhD in economics from Concordia University in Montreal. His primary research interests are in methods for the economic evaluation of health technologies, and treatment of uncertainty in health technology assessments (HTAs) and the decision-making process. Other areas of research include the longitudinal analysis of healthcare utilization data and the valuation of indirect costs in HTAs. Before coming to McMaster University, he was a consultant and manager of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research for 10 years. During this time, he acquired vast experience in designing and conducting pharmacoeconomic studies (e.g., cost-effectiveness and cost-utility), budget impact analyses and outcomes research studies (e.g., Phase IV observational and burden of illness studies, development and validation of Quality of Life instruments) in a variety of therapeutic areas and health care settings.
